Updated from our original post on at Wat Pichayat
One of our favourite temples for contemplation and meditation in Bangkok. We usually come here for a meditation and to visit friends in the next door Wat Anongkharam. During our last visit in November both temples were almost deserted as the country was still within the 30 days of official mourning for the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Wat Anongkharam was all locked up and I know that one of my monk-friends was participating in the chanting for the late King in the Maha Prasat Hall of the Grand Palace. But also Wat Pichayat was more quiet than usual and only a few people were meditating in the prayer hall.
